Dr. Freeman has over
10 years of experience as a therapist for adults, children, couples,
and families. He has both a master's degree (M.A.) and a doctorate
degree (Ph.D.) in clinical psychology from the University of
Nebraska. He is a qualified Mental Health Professional, a Child
Mental Health Specialist, a National Licensed Counselor, a Licensed
Counselor in the State of Washington, and a member of the American
Psychological Association .
Dr. Freeman is also a Psychology Resident working toward licensure
as a clinical psychologist. His supervisor is Tricia Hanson,
Psy.D., a licensed clinical psychologist. He provides psychological
evaluations under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist.
Dr. Freeman has an eclectic approach to therapy, which means
that he uses whatever technique or strategy he feels will be
most helpful for the client. His training includes the use of
Solution focused (emphasizing solutions and the client's strengths),
Cognitive-behavioral (emphasizing changes in those thoughts and
behaviors which are problematic), Psychodynamic (emphasizing
an understanding of why we think and feel the way we do), and
Systems (emphasizing our relationships to others) approaches
to therapy. Dr. Freeman's experience includes 10 years of community
mental health service, the clinical treatment of "at-risk"
youth, the treatment and assessment of inmates, training in psychological
evaluations, and research on the treatment of trauma and abuse. |
